A new grape variety called shine muscat (Vitis vinifera) is an increasingly popular choice at the South Korean dining table. Shine muscat is distinguished by its unique taste, which includes the taste of mangoes. This yellowish green wine carries a musky taste, but without a lot of sour taste.

This variety is more expensive than others in Korea. The E-commerce Mall E-mart Mall platform even sells wine for 1,890 won (Rp. 25 thousand) per 100 grams, while green grapes imported from the US are priced at 770 won (Rp. 10,000) per 100 grams.

According to the Korea Rural Economic Institute, shine muscat was first harvested in Korea in 2014. Areas dedicated to varieties have increased every year, from 2.78 square kilometers in 2016, to 4.84 square kilometers in 2017 and 9.63 square kilometers this year. More than 80 percent of farms are in North Gyeongsang Province.

But according to several other sources, this wine actually originated from the Okoyama prefecture, Japan. The place where special fruit is developed as a reliable export agricultural product.

This large, seedless grape is crossed from two different types of grapes. Muscat Shine Wine is famous for its high quality and flawless appearance. So that even in Singapore it is known that this wine reaches SG $ 88 (IDR 940 thousand) per 500 gr. Wow!

White muscat wine contains high sugar content and low acidity. It tastes very sweet without any trace of acid. The season is from the beginning of July to the end of October. Besides being eaten just like that, wine can be used to make raisins or white wine.
