The corona virus that causes Covid-19 has infected more than 10 million people worldwide. Experts predict the number will continue to increase, especially now that many countries are starting to relax social restrictions.
Until now, there is no vaccine available that can prevent the corona virus from spreading to others. Not only the vaccine, the right treatment for this disease has also not been found.
Therefore, for the time being, all affected countries rely on social restrictions or lockdowns to slow the spread of Covid-19.
However, slowly some countries have begun to loosen lockdowns and allow their citizens to return to life as usual, including activities outside the home.
Unfortunately, according to experts, this can actually increase the number of Covid-19 cases. according to Jay Butler, deputy director of infectious diseases at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the United States, everyone feels tired just being at home.
"The pandemic is not over yet, and it is important to realize that," he said, quoted by Medical Daily.
Everyone must continue to carry out health protocols such as washing hands, keeping a distance, and wearing a mask or face shield when outside the home.
Knowing that any activity carried out outside the house, whether mild, moderate, or severe, can risk transmitting or spreading the corona virus is very important.
Light activities like walking, biking, or eating out can make you contract the corona virus. So, when outside, keep a distance of two meters away from other people and avoid objects that are often touched by others.
The risk will increase when doing activities such as picnicking with friends or visiting the beach and public swimming pool. These activities include mild-moderate and require keeping a distance, wearing a mask, and not sharing personal items.
The activity is including cutting hair to the salon and children playing outside. How to prevent it is to keep it in a small group of people, wear a mask, and make sure hand hygiene.
Activities with moderate-to-severe risks include visiting parents and others belonging to vulnerable groups infected with the corona virus. Going to the gym or hotel can also increase the risk because droplets that have viruses are more easily spread in confined spaces.
The hardest risk is with a large party or indoor gathering. Being in the crowd and a room that is not well ventilated makes it difficult to keep your distance and droplets containing viruses are more easily exposed to others.
"Here's the rule of thumb: the closer you interact with others, the longer the interaction takes place, and the greater the number of people involved in that interaction, the higher the risk of Covid-19 will spread," said Butler.
